Liz holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Classics from Harvard College, and a Master of Fine Arts in Screenwriting from Boston University College of Communication.
Liz is passionate about education and mentorship. Based on her professional and personal experiences, Liz believes that the college application process and transition to college is a crucial period of self-discovery for students as they hone who they are as adults. She loves working with students to help them make the most of this important journey.
Liz spent three years at the Harvard College Admissions Office where she coordinated the Harvard Alumni Interviewing Program and served as an Admissions Officer, reviewing 750+ applications annually. During that time, Liz was also an Academic Advisor to freshmen at Harvard College, helping them choose courses and navigate the transition to college. While a graduate student at Boston University, Liz was the Internship Coordinator at the College of Communication, educating students in all aspects of the internship process, from resume creation to conducting mock interviews.
Liz is an avid classical musician and in 2008 she was selected to be a Viola Fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center where she performed with James Levine, Renee Flemming, and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. After writing a dozen screenplays, Liz is hard at work on her first novel!
Liz enjoys food from the kids menu, clever product design, and stories with a dramatic character arc. When Liz is not writing, you are most likely to find her making elaborate calendars, re-reading her favorite books, and watching cooking shows on Netflix.
Test Preparation“Karina was an excellent match in every way. She knew the material cold as she is a biologist and she also knew what would be expected on the AP exam as she teaches the class. Furthermore, she was dedicated to making sure C. learned the material and was encouraging and sweet. I cannot say enough good things about Karina.”
