She speaks Marathi fluently, and has picked up a smattering of French, Italian, and Spanish along the way (after studying Latin for many years and nearly choosing a Classics major). She received professional ballet training while growing up, and continues to enjoy ballet classes. When not in the lab or classroom or dance studio, she designs hand-knit garments.
