Writing Tutoring

Signet writing and creative writing tutors are mentors who guide you in the writing process.

Our writing tutors are hand-selected not only for their writing abilities, but also for their ability to help students organize and articulate their own written ideas.

Our tutors will help you understand the basic mechanics of writing by working with you through brainstorms, outlines, rough drafts, and revisions until your paper, essay, dissertation, or thesis is up to par.

Signet writing tutors can help you organize your research, develop your thesis, plot your argument, strengthen your voice, and even motivate you over hurdles and writer’s block.

The result: not only will you write a great paper, essay, or story, but you will also learn about the writing process and how to manage it on your own. You’ll have a Signet tutor in your corner to answer questions, give you feedback, and prepare you for workshops or meetings with professors, editors, or publishers.

Our tutors are also very familiar with writing sections of the common standardized tests listed below, as well as writing conventions for the sciences, humanities, and business at the high school, college, and graduate levels.

We select Signet tutors in writing and creative writing from among those who hold doctorate and master’s degrees, PhD candidates, experienced composition and creative writing teachers, and published authors. Signet’s writing tutors have demonstrated their own excellent writing abilities throughout their academic and professional careers, and they are experienced at mentoring students of many levels through the writing process. As with all subjects, we screen candidates for the depth of their expertise and then hire tutors based on their proven ability as teachers.
