Under no circumstances will Signet ever aid in irresponsible or unethical educational acts, such as plagiarism, cheating, or other duplicitous behavior designed to artificially increase a student's grades. If a customer requests such services from a tutor, tutoring services will be immediately discontinued without refund.
All appointments should be made at least 3 days in advance. Urgent requests for tutoring made with less than 24 hours notice may incur a $90 per-appointment rush charge.
In the event of In-Home tutoring, the regular tutoring rate will be higher than our in-center rate to account for travel time and costs.
If a customer fails to provide at least Twenty-Four Hours (24hrs) of advance notice before canceling or rescheduling a lesson, the customer will be charged for ONE HOUR of the applicable lesson. However, if a tutor is "stood up" or canceled upon within one hour of the lesson start time, the customer will be charged for the full planned duration of the session.
Similarly, if a tutor fails to provide Twenty-Four Hours of advance notice, the customer's account will be credited with the balance of the lesson plus ONE FREE HOUR of tutoring.
It is strictly forbidden for any customer to offer direct or indirect employment to any tutor on the Signet staff. Such unauthorized employment will jeopardize the tutor's future employment with Signet and will result in an immediate termination of the customer's tutoring services as well as appropriate legal action.
Signet has the right to terminate tutoring services to any client at any time.
If a customer neglects to pay a negative account balance for more than twenty (20) days, Signet will discontinue tutoring services until payment is received.
It is required that all customers leave valid credit card information on file with Signet, no matter how they choose to pay. If a negative account balance accrues and is not paid in full after thirty (30) days, Signet reserves the right to charge the entire negative balance to the given credit card. Signet will provide ample notification before initiating any such charges. If the credit card cannot be charged, any negative balances will be turned over to a collections agency after sixty (60) days.
Signet holds the copyright on all of its instructional materials, and it is strictly forbidden to disseminate or resell any of Signet's proprietary materials. In the event that you are left with proprietary materials from a tutoring session(s), they may only be used personally.
All tutors are contract laborers, meaning that Signet is neither liable nor responsible for any damages incurred by our tutors during travel to and from or execution of any lesson. In the event of an accident or incident, please notify Signet management immediately so that proper action may be taken. Signet will attempt all good and reasonable actions to resolve any situation that may arise.
We will collect personal information by lawful and fair means and, where appropriate, with the knowledge or consent of the individual concerned.
We will protect personal information by reasonable security safeguards against loss or theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.
We may collect contact information such as name, email address, mailing address, phone number.
We may collect tutoring-related information such as student name, subjects in which assistance is desired, learning preference of students, school.
We may collect billing information such as credit card number and billing address.
We may collect other, identifying information from you such as user name, account number, password.
We may also collect demographic information such as age, education, gender, interests and zip code.
We use this information to do the following: respond to and provide the highest quality possible tutoring services to you; send you confirmation of receipt of tutoring services; send you an email newsletter (from which you may unsubscribe in the newsletter or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org); send you specific marketing communications on a reasonable timeframe (no spam); respond to your questions and concerns; improve our website and marketing efforts; and conduct general research and analysis.
We do not sell, rent, lease, or give your personal information to third parties, unless in the specific cases identified below.
