Score at the Top of Your Potential.

Even with hours of practice and all the smarts, most students reach a point where their score stops improving.
It’s demoralizing. The score they need can seem unattainable. And traditional test prep fails to get to the bottom of the problem.
At Signet, we take a more holistic and personalized approach so that your kid doesn’t fall through the cracks.
Our unique test prep method has a proven track record of getting students to their target scores.
And without all the friction and frustration.

With the right approach, even students with ADHD can score in the 99th percentile. We’ve made it happen. How?
Well, hitting a target score takes so much more than knowledge, skill, or even understanding of the test’s tricks and traps.
Our secret sauce combines content tutoring with performance coaching in a way that’s individualized, engaging, and effective.
So your kid gets the result they need to be seriously considered by their dream schools.
Which test leverages your strengths? And what score do you actually need to get into your dream school? We start with a holistic assessment so your efforts are aligned and no energy is wasted. It begins during your free consultation.
Any available expert won’t do. Students do best with tutors they enjoy spending time with. So we carefully pair them with a strong personality-fit. The result? They’re excited for sessions and motivated to do their best.

“My son had aspirations of attending a top tier university, but his preliminary SAT assessment indicated he had to improve his test-taking skills to reach this goal.
Signet customized a lesson plan for him. His tutor correctly assessed his areas for improvement and worked with him one-on-one to strengthen the skills he needed to do well on the SAT.
All of my son’s hard work paid off in the end: He improved his combined SAT scores by 250 points which helped him gain acceptance into a top 5 nationally ranked university.”
“Evan’s ACT scores just rolled in and it’s a 34 on the test, which is the 99th percentile. That is also way up from the 29 he started at a year ago. So I want to thank you for staying the course and working with Evan so effectively, particularly last winter when he was going through a very difficult period.”

“Attached is a picture of my ACT score, and well, you were the difference between a 31 and a 34. Thank you so much for sticking with me through those rough math sections and teaching me those amazingly helpful strategies for not getting bored.
I never found myself nodding off the entire test, and was able to check my answers for all but the math test. I hope you have a great rest of the year, and I’ll be sure to recommend you to my younger friends as they begin to take the tests.”
“Signet helped our daughter improve her ACT score to realize her wishes to be seriously considered by top-caliber schools. We have three other children and we will not hesitate to contact Signet should the need arise for tutoring for them. Thank you.”

High school teachers prepare kids to do well on the quizzes, exams and assignments they devise. Standardized tests could not be more different.
The question and answer formats are different. The timing is different. The pressure is higher. And often, a given school’s English or math curriculum won’t cover all of the same skills being tested.
Even when schools do include some SAT prep, it can be insufficient for many kids. Like with a big box test prep company, high school teachers are still running a big group of students through the same lesson plan and the same drills.
They aren’t going to have bandwidth to help your kid identify their specific performance challenges or teach them the exact strategies they need to improve their accuracy, use their time well, and maximize every point.
The end of sophomore year is a great time for kids to take a low-stakes practice test or the PSAT and get a sense of how they do without any prep or pressure.
As soon as junior year, kids with big ambitions and kids with testing challenges should start assessing and improving their skills. It’s certainly not too early to begin working with a tutor or coach.
By senior year, there may be more test anxiety to contend with as the stakes are higher. The sooner you start, the less test prep ends up being an overwhelming, all-consuming proposition.
We’ll work with you to figure out a balanced schedule so your teen still has time to be a kid, do well in their classes, and show up for all the things they care about.
It depends on where they are starting out, how many points are available for them to capture, and how much time we have to work together.
Typically, our students see a 100-300 point increase on the SAT (where the highest score is a 1600) and a 2-5 point increase on the ACT, where the maximum is 36.
For some students, a greater points leap is necessary to get them into their target zone. And it’s possible when they learn how to work with their brains, budget their time, and perform under pressure at the top of their ability.
For others, the goal is to move from the 90th percentile to the 99th, in which case a smaller increase makes all the difference.

The best way to answer this question is with a free consultation. We’ll take a look at your kid’s current stats, identify their target range, and evaluate their potential based on their strengths and weaknesses.
Unlike many test prep companies that expect students to conform to their schedules, we offer customized, flexible scheduling.
It’s also important to note that we don’t believe test prep should be all-consuming. Rote repetition yields diminishing results.
We aim to set targets and schedules that allow students to succeed without detriment to the other things that matter in their lives.
Test-taking isn’t my kid’s strong suit, and a lot of colleges don’t require these tests anymore. Is it worth putting them through this?
Many test-optional schools still place a high-value on a strong score. Having one almost always gives you an advantage.
However, whether it’s worth trying truly depends on what your kid wants to do and where their talents lie. It might serve them better to focus their efforts on other aspects of their application.
We’re here to advise you in a free consultation.
Our goal is to help you strike a balance between making sure your kid isn’t selling themselves short, and not forcing something that isn’t right for them.
We’re here to help with that. Start with a free consultation and if you’re keen to explore further, we’ve seen amazing turnarounds begin just from getting students on the phone with one of our coaches.
The last thing we want to do is force a kid through a process that isn’t right for them. And if they’re strongly opposed to it, it’s probably not the place to spend your goodwill. They aren’t going to take it seriously.
However, if your kid is simply feeling panicked, overwhelmed, or assuming they aren’t going to do well so why bother — we can work with that. The first thing is to get them to do a practice test, and help them see that the process of improving their score can be way less stressful, and way more rewarding.
