There is no character trait that better fits the definition of a “humblebrag” than perfectionism.
That’s what researcher Thomas Curran thinks, and he’s got the science to back it up. In this TED Talk, Curran describes how perfectionism, often applauded in our society, can actually hold you back. He also explains why the increasing expectations placed on today’s young people are contributing to a rise in perfectionism and a concurrent rise in mental health issues.
