Signet Education is completely confidential. Your academic records, performance, personal information, and billing information are kept strictly private. We will never sell, rent, or otherwise distribute any of your information.
We will endeavor to respond to any contact you have with our administrative office on the same business day.
All clients are required to keep a credit card on file with us. You will be billed at the time that your session is confirmed, and you will have access to all billing information through your online account.If you would like to pay by check or cash, we request that you prepay. We will only be able to provide services while you have a balance on your account.
All time spent meeting with a student for the purposes of tutoring is billable in 5-minute increments. In addition, any time a tutor spends outside of sessions working directly on a student's behalf - for example, editing an essay or proofreading documents - is also billable. In some cases, substantive emails or lengthy conversations with stakeholders (parents, teachers, etc.) may also be billable. In these cases, we will always discuss with you before billing.
You will be able to schedule directly with your tutor. If you encounter any scheduling problems, please contact us immediately for assistance.
We require 24 hours’ notice for changes to session time. These changes include rescheduling an agreed upon session, changing the duration of a scheduled session, and cancellations. Changes made with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a late change fee equivalent to one hour of tutoring at the tutor’s standard rate. If the tutor has to make a change to the scheduled session time with less than 24 hours’ notice, your account will be credited one hour of tutoring time. NOTE: If, by mutual agreement, the tutor and student change the duration of a scheduled session during a session, no charges or credits will accrue.
If a student does not show up for a scheduled session, a no-show penalty equivalent to the entire duration of the scheduled session will be incurred.
These policies also apply to admissions packages: admissions sessions cancelled or changed with less than 24 hours' notice will be billed at the admissions professional's standard hourly rate.
These policies are enforced by the Signet administrative team. Please feel free to contact us directly in cases of extenuating circumstances or emergencies; we are happy to consider all reasonable requests to waive late change fees.
We ask that tutoring requests be made with at least 72 hours notice in advance of a desired meeting time in order for us to appropriately process your request. If you wish to meet with someone within one business day of your initial request, a $90 rush fee will apply.
We are glad to offer discounted packages to any clients wishing to purchase 12 or 24 hours of subject tutoring or test prep at a time. Should you choose to buy a package, the price will be calculated based on the hourly rate of the tutor that you choose. Please be aware that if you change tutors or subjects, your hourly rate may change, altering the total number of hours in your package. Furthermore, any hours purchased in a package are non-refundable and expire one year from date of purchase. The same package offers do not apply to our admissions services.
Every Signet tutor is required to pass a background check prior to being paired with his or her first client.
Signet Education is committed to helping our students learn, rather than simply providing answers. As such, it is the Signet tutor’s role to help the student be prepared to do their assignments, not to help the student complete said work. Instead, we recommend that students attempt their assignments before any tutoring session and identify specific problems they are struggling with, and if possible, why they are stuck or what they find confusing. Signet tutors can then prepare and work through similar problems with the student and/or work with the student to identify and refresh concepts tested. This applies to homework, take-home or online exams/quizzes, and written work.
We cannot guarantee your results, as student success, grades, and test scores depend on a number of factors. However, we will guarantee that you will be satisfied with our service.
